Psarona Sifnos
ThePsarona Sifnosis seaside accommodation in Heronissos, Sifnos, with rooms and a house on the sea. In an industry where most bookings go through large platforms with commissions, a strong organic presence on Google is key.
The goal was to have the property appear high in searches for accommodation in Sifnos, so that visitors could find it and contact them directly.
A small family lodge starts with a few pages and almost zero visibility beyond its name. Travelers, however, first look for the island, and only later where they will stay.
The opportunity was to have Psarona all this way, in English, from the first idea of Sifnosuntil the reservation button.
01
Site with seven pages and two articles, which appeared almost exclusively in name searches
02
Large booking platforms and travel sites dominate general accommodation searches
03
Seasonal demand, with interest starting months before summer
04
Blog articles that were never indexed due to pagination
05
No analytics, so no insight into what's driving real bookings
Our approach
Step 01
Inspiration stage: the traveler does not yet know Psarona
The research on 354 keywords showed that the demand is on the island itself: weather per month, villages, Chrysopigi monastery, port and ships, comparison with Paros, Milos and Serifos. We have built a guide for each such question, written in English for the international audience, the same audience that is searchingboat rental in Kos.
Key takeaways, table of contents and data tables in each article
FAQ only from real People Also Ask questions, with FAQPage schema
Retarget articles where data showed higher demand, such as the Athens to Sifnos ferry
Step 02
Comparison stage: where to stay in Sifnos?
The area guide answers with the first paragraph and continues with a table showing who each village is suitable for, which beach it is next to and if a car is needed. The Heronissos page targets both spellings of the name, Heronissos and Cheronissos.
The accommodation page got an H1 describing the view and location, and a table of the four rooms so the visitor could compare without searching.
Step 03
Decision stage: trust that Google reads
Hotel and HotelRoom schema describe rooms and amenities, 197 images got descriptive alts and every page got proper heading hierarchy. With WebP, lazy loading and a lighter native on mobile, the native's PageSpeed mobile went from 76 to over 90.
Step 04
Discovery stage: no articles out of index
The blog list showed ten articles and its next pages were noindex, so eleven guides were left without any link from an indexable page. All articles were put on the front page, the original got a block with the newest guides, and indexing was requested for any missing URLs.
Step 05
Measurement stage: from click to booking
New GA4 with key events for booking button, phone, WhatsApp, email and contact form, along with 42 keywords tracking. It now shows which driver brings interest in accommodation.
